Eritrea: President Isaias Holds Talks with Vice Admiral Vladimir Kasatonov



President Isaias Afwerki met and held intensive discussions in Massawa as we speak with Delegation led by Vice Admiral Vladimir Kasatonov, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Russian Navy.

The discussions centered on enhancement of bilateral ties outlined in St. Petersburg at Africa-Russia Summit. Broad areas of all-rounded cooperation mentioned in St. Petersburg final July included the sectors of infrastructure, power, mining, agriculture, marine sources, protection and safety amongst others.

The 2 sides mentioned prospects of Russian help to regional efforts for peace and stability in Purple Sea and the Horn of Africa areas.

The assembly noticed the attendance of high-ranking Eritrean officers together with Gen. Filipos Woldeyohannes, Chief of Workers of the Eritrean Protection Forces; Maj. Gen. Teklai Habteselasie, Commander of the Eritrean Air Drive; Maj. Gen. Romodan Osman Aweliay, Commander of the Eritrean Protection Forces Coaching Middle; Col. Melake Teklemariam, Chief of Workers of the Eritrean Naval Drive; Ambassador Zemede Tekle, Commissioner of Tradition and Sports activities; and Mr. Igor Mozgo, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Eritrea.

Accompanied by Vice Admiral Vladimir Kasatonov, President Isaias additionally toured Russian frigate Marshal Shaposhinkov which is on port-call in reference to the thirtieth Anniversary of diplomatic ties between the 2 nations.
